My TV-PC has stopped communicating with my TV. I suspect that it's a video card issue. Does anyone out there have a video card (with TV-out) that they aren't using but that still works? I'd like to test to see if it's the video card or something wrong elsewhere before I start buying stuff.
I have been meaning to change that whole system out.....

My sister's website is all screwy, but only in non-IE. It didn't always look this way, three months (or so) ago, it looked the same in both firefox and IE.
Does anyone know of anything that could have caused this?

This year our goal is to give college scholarships to students affected by cancer. This group of hard working students often falls through the cracks of available scholarships due to the hardships placed on them and their families while dealing with cancer. Please help us give these students a fighting chance for higher education. Net proceeds from ticket sales of this event will go towards this cause.

After getting pissy with the guy that told me that he was just sent out to check the connection, and it works on his computer, but yeah, not my 3 systems, and it mys be my network, except I wired straight into the modem, and the only thing different than this time last week (when I got connection) was the cable modem, I sent the cable modem back with him. I then sat and thought about it and well, gosh darn it all, I HATE SBC, even though it is now AT&T, which I don't hate, but I hate the idea of DSL, plus I'd have to change my amazon e-mail address and slews of other e-mail addresses.
So I went to TMC and got a new cable modem and VOILA works, no problem.
I'm a little upset because the customer service I received did not fix my problem. I fixed my problem. And it's not because the people that I worked with didn't do their job, because they did. It's just that the people I worked with were not the people that I need to work with when something goes wrong with my internet. When something goes wrong with my internet, I don't need to reboot, or repair my network connection. Trust me I've tried that. When something goes wrong with my internet, I need someone to check the connection and if that's okay, it's the hardware.
My first cable modem worked, but slowly. I replace it, I get no internet. ANYONE that isn't reading a script would know that it's the CABLE MODEM and not my systems or the connection. It's really not that hard. And yet, that's not what goes into the system. Because the people working the phones are not capable of tech support. They lack curiosity. They don't want to fix things that are outside of the script.
And that's what bothers me most.
But I have internet, so I'm going to stop whining now.
YAY!

So yesterday my back-up method of accessing the internet in my home died.
Can everyone send some positive energy towards me so that TMC will fix my internet tomorrow as they are scheduled to?

Why does it cost money to get a list of real estate that's in bank foreclosure? Wouldn't, say, the bank, like to have as many people as possible see inventory so that the price of the property would rise and they would have a better chance of getting the outstanding balance on the mortgage back?
Can: Get an IP address from ISP
Can: Ping ISP's gateway (and get a response)
Can: See ISP's local web page (which automatically forwards to another web page)
Can: Download via Bit Torrent !!!
Cannot: See any other web page (including the web page that my ISP's local web page forwards to
Cannot: POP3 or SMTP.
Cannot: Ping other stuff (like yahoo.com)
Oh, and I could do all of the above prior to changing the cable modem.

I just did. I noticed that there was a merchant I didn't remember and didn't recognize by date or amount. ATTM. Which, as it turns out is just my cell phone, but they just changed names. And it seemed a little higher than what I thought I was paying for service.
So I went and looked it up.
$9.99 for some ring tone service that had a free offer that I signed up and immediately canceled because it didn't work.
Made a call, waited on hold, got my money back.
Did you review your credit card statement this month?
I'm not totally anal. Just 10 minutes read it, does each charge make sense? You don't have to tie it back to your receipts that you probably didn't keep, just does it make sense?
Heck because I do this monthly I don't need to look at my phone bill each month, apparently.
Also, at choice state where credit card company has requested money from my bank account and credited my account for it, but it hasn't shown up at my bank. Add to that previous situation wherein I have gotten reimbursed from work for travel expenses, but haven't had to pay for them yet. I have to remember that 80% of the money in my checking account is not available to me.

Well, I've seem more movies this summer that EVER before in my life. (More movies in a summer that is, I see scads in a week at SXSW.)
Is anyone missing something? I'm taking suggestions this week as I'm feeling the wear of so many movies. Well, actually, it's the Oreo shakes. I'm feeling the wear of so many shakes.
I'm leaning towards Pineapple Express or Mama Mia! uhhh, and The X-Files and a vague urge to see The Mummy.
I've heard rumor that Lake Creek is the place to go, and it's apparently the only Alamo that has the X-Files and The Mummy. It looks like we'll have to wait until later in the week to figure out movie times though. No Alamo has times for anything first-run past Thursday.
Also, I'd like to announce a Very Special Sunday Morning Movie Club on Sunday August 31. It will happen in Woodstock, IL, probably in my parents' basement! Oooooo!
So if anyone I know is in the Chicago area for Labor Day weekend, let me know. I'm sure my parents would get a kick out a bunch of party crashers. :) (The party is my brother's birthday party later that day.)

Pushing ups! 5-5-5-4-16. The third 5 was supposed to be a 4 but I got distracted.
Since Week 3 means an exhaustion test (do as many as you can, minimum 16), I suspect I will be able to make that minimum.

I did 12 pushups in the last rep today. I'm now totally convinced that I'm not going down as far as I did last week. But I tried going lower and I got the wrong kind of shoulder pain in my right shoulder reminding me why I don't do push-ups or bench press. Oh, that's right, it no worky righty.
I think it needs to be a lot stronger to do 100 push-ups full depth and it can't get that strong that fast to handle this regimen. So now I'm thinking it may take four trips through the process: 1. medium depth, girl push ups, 2. full depths girly push-ups, 3. medium depth regular push-ups, 4. full-depth regular push ups.
Medium depth being keeping my shoulder just above my elbow at it's lowest and full depth being shoulder just below the elbow. "To the ground" is right out as push-ups are described in the instructions as I'm several inches higher when I use the hand grips (in this case the hand weights) than unassisted push-ups.
Also, push-ups when suffering from a really bad allergy attack (darn cuteness that is Mariah) is NO FUN.
My Birthday is over.
